  Background
Abstract To improve the extensibility and the ability of upgrading of the network, service oriented Universal Carrying Network (UCN) was proposed. A new solution of implying triple play was provided through UCN. How to construct Logical Carrying Network (LCN) which satisfies user¡¯s demand efficiently under the situation of limited resources is a hot issue in the research of UCN. The management architecture of UCN and solution to solve the problem of resource topology discovery and information consistency are proposed. Under this management architecture£¬ mathematics model of construction of LCN is analyzed. Under some important principles a construction methods with migration based on network balance is given. All above give a new solution for the construction of LCN. The validity of the construction method is testified by emulation experiment through construction requirements acceptance ratio and average link utilization ratio. Keywords universal carrying network; logical carrying network; network virtualization; construction policy; triple play Background The work presented in this paper belongs to the field of the designing of new generation network and network virtualization. The traditional Internet ¡°Best Effort¡± service mode can not satisfy various traffic requirements nowadays. IntServ/RSVP and DiffServ network architecture proposed by IETF still can not solve the problem of Quality of Service efficiently. To improve the extensibility and the ability of upgrading of the network, service oriented Universal Carrying Network (UCN) was proposed. A new solution of implying triple play was provided through UCN. Research issues of this paper focus on construction methods of Logical Carrying Network (LCN), which are parts of the topology and resource utilization designing of the network resource in UCN. The construction of LCN is assigning the resources of UCN to the components of a logical network in a reconfigurable flexible network environment. This kind of issues as well as virtual network design is paid attention by international network service researchers. Network virtualization is currently considered as one of the most important approaches to the development of future Internet architecture. Currently, there are several virtual network mapping algorithms, however, these works were not designed for network balance and reconfiguration of the network during the process of virtual network mapping. This paper proposes the management architecture of UCN and solution to solve the problem of resource topology discovery and information consistency. Based on some important principles a construction methods with migration based on network balance is given. The experiment results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper can improve the construction requirements acceptance ratio and average link utilization ratio.
